The 15th International Colloquium on Lung & Airway Fibrosis

Objectives

  1. To bring together world authorities and young scientists, including junior investigators and pre- and post-doctoral fellows as well as physicians and clinical investigators, in the disciplines of lung and airway injury, repair and fibrosis at the cellular and molecular levels.
  2. To provide a forum for presentation of new research findings and technologies, exchange of ideas, and collaborations among basic scientists, translational and clinical researchers.

Colloquium Overview

There will be a keynote address on Monday morning, and a series of plenary platform sessions will begin on Monday and end after Wednesday AM. Each session will be co-chaired by 2 prominent discussion leaders and will feature an invited talk, followed by a series of short talks selected by the organizing committee from the submitted abstracts. Additionally, there will be a Poster session. The goal of these talks and posters is to present new findings and data not yet published, as has been the tradition of the symposia.

In keeping with tradition, we will have a free afternoon Tuesday with a choice of activities. Options include:

  • Golf, at one of Sea Trails three (3) golf courses. Rates: Maples $55; Byrd $50; Jones $65 (cart included in all fees). Reservations must be made through the Convention Sales Department to obtain this special golf rate. Sea Trail requires non-metal spikes. The dress code for play is collared shirts, slacks or Bermuda length shorts for all golfers. No jeans are allowed. Men's and ladies rental clubs are available at $35 per person per day. Both left and right-handed clubs are available.
  • An afternoon of birdwatching on Sunset Beach with an expert guide
  • Deep Sea fishing
    • Cost: $39 per adult - $34 per child
  • A trip to nearby Wilmington, NC

$500 USD per person - includes River Creek/Club Minisuite accommodations, meals and meeting fees (we encourage you to pre-register by September 15).

A River Creek/Club Minisuite for the nights of September 28, 29 and 30th is included in your registration fee, you may upgrade to a larger room for added fee (see reservation form). The River Creek/Club Minisuite has 2 double beds, bath and kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator.

Wilmington International Airport and Myrtle Beach Airport are about the same distance from Sunset Beach, NC - approximately 50 miles.

If you prefer to fly into Raleigh/Durham International Airport (RDU) the approximate distance to Sunset Beach, North Carolina is 187 miles (3 hours, 33 minutes driving time).
