Energizing NC Industries Through Efficiency and Advanced Technologies

Interested North Carolina trade professionals are invited to participate in a full-day conference on innovative perspectives and applications in energy efficiency for manufacturers in the glass, chemical, forestry, mining and other energy-intensive industries. This conference is crucial for North Carolina businesses to learn how the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard (REPS) will affect your industrial operations. You will also get an overview of the future costs of energy and will learn of state, federal and utility programs that can benefit your efficiency and innovation efforts.

A workshop on combined heat and power (CHP) will be followed by an afternoon workshop on energy efficiency.

Combined Heat and Power Workshop will cover:

  • The role of CHP in REPS legislation
  • CHP Technology and Applications in the industrial, commercial, and agricultural Sectors
  • Measurement and Verification - Metering Best Practices
  • New rules for interconnecting to the grid
  • Renewable energy credit (REC) trading process; and
  • Completing a RECs transaction with Utilities

The Industrial Energy Efficiency Workshop will cover:

  • Brief summary of how industry will help meet the REPS through energy efficiency programs
  • Utility programs for energy efficiency
  • Opting out: what industries can do to receive energy efficiency credits

Lunch will be provided and is included in the registration fee.
