On-line Spanish Courses
Offered in Conjunction with Web Spanish Tutor (WST)

Elementary Spanish | Intermediate Spanish | Advanced Spanish | Register

We are partnering with Web Spanish Tutor (WST) to offer you the opportunity to learn the Spanish language from the convenience of your home.

If you want to learn the language or master it, or the courses that you take in your school/university are just not enough, you must take these Spanish classes. These lessons are unique. They offer explanatory insight into the structure of the language. You gain mastery of the language rather than a mere memorizing of phrases and mimicking patterns.

Registrants have the option of signing up for either Elementary Spanish, Intermediate Spanish,or Advanced Spanish. These are noncredit certification classes--registrants will receive a certificate upon successful completion.

Elementary Spanish

Elementary Spanish is a basic level course designed for people who either have no knowledge of the language, or who need a refresher of the basics of Spanish.

Upon completion of this course, the student will have studied sufficient material to understand and hold a conversation dealing with the past, present, and future time; and give instructions in dealing with everyday matters.

Focus of the course

• Learn vocabulary for everyday conversation
• Practice how to pronounce
• Learn how to compose correct sentences
• Improve comprehension of native speakers
• Grammar

Tutoring and Exercises

• Audio for pronunciation practice
• Expert e-mail tutoring
• Exercises follow the topics covered in the lesson
• Answers for all exercises given for self check
• Helpful hints available with exercises

Prerequisites/Requirements

• No previous knowledge of Spanish
• Age group: Middle School and above
• No textbook; dictionary recommended
• Internet Explorer 5.5 or above browser
• Windows Media Player

Registration Fee: $220
This includes unlimited access to the site/lessons for 4 months, including on-line lessons, e-mail tutoring, exercises and answers, pronunciation practice exercises, and the certification exam.

Intermediate Spanish

Intermediate Spanish is a course designed for people who have basic Spanish knowledge at the level of our Elementary course. This includes being able to express actions in the present, past, and future using common everyday words.

Upon completion of this course, the student will have studied sufficient material to correctly use contextually sensitive vocabulary and build complex sentences.

Focus of the course

• Compose and speak with more complex sentences
• Learn compound tense usage (I have seen)
• Learn strategies for vocabulary selection
• Improve pronunciation and comprehension
• Grammar

Tutoring and Exercises

• Expert e-mail tutoring
• Exercises follow the topics covered in the lesson
• Answers for all exercises given for self check
• Helpful hints available with exercises

Advanced Spanish

Advanced Spanish Grammar-I is intended for people who have a familiarity with the rules of Spanish grammar, but need extensive practice to make them more intuitive.

The lessons give a thorough presentation of grammar, progressively moving the student to near native ability.

Focus of the course

• Thorough practice of complex grammar
• Strategies for translation and building vocabulary
• Improve writing, correctness in expression, translation
• Understand the mechanics of the language

• Exercises follow the topics covered in the lesson
• Answers for all exercises given for self check
• Helpful hints available with exercises

• Basic knowledge of Spanish grammar
• Age group: High School and above
• No textbook; only a dictionary
• Internet Explorer 5.5 or above browser
• Windows Media Player

Registration Fee: $260
This includes unlimited access to the site/lessons for 4 months, including on-line lessons, e-mail tutoring, exercises and answers, pronunciation practice exercises, and the certification exam.

To register or for more information This on-line registration process is for credit card registrations only. If you wish to be invoiced and pay with a Purchase Order (PO), please fax your registration form and the purchase order to 919.515.7614. If you do not have a registration form, call 919.515.2261 and request a form; however, NCSU employees may use this on-line registration to pay via IDT.

Once you register and the payment is processed, we will send an electronic confirmation letter with a contract number. Once you have your contract number you will need to log onto the WST website (http://www.webspanishtutor.com) and enter the contract number to start your 4-month access.
