Why You Should Attend

You have a great opportunity to strengthen your career and improve your value to your organization through a new two-year certificate program for state park managers. The State Park Leadership School is a highly experiential program that exposes you to the core competencies that are crucial for your effectiveness as a professional state park manager.

How to Earn Your Certificate

Each year of the school consists of both distance education and on-site components. In August of each year, you will receive DVDs that provide comprehensive instruction on individual topics. Each DVD will include study guides, sample test questions, and recommended supplemental resources for learning.

In January 2009 and 2010, you will participate in an exciting on-site experiential learning forum at Oglebay Resort and Conference Center. At the end of each year, you will take a written exam that will test your knowledge of the topics discussed. You must receive an average score of 70% to pass the School and earn your certificate.

Tuition

Tuition is $599 per person, annually. This fee covers instruction, text, study materials, a certificate of completion and social and banquet activities.

Registration Statement

For maximum effectiveness, initial registration will be limited to one participant per state. Additional participants per state will be placed on a wait list and accepted in registration order based on availability after September 15, 2007. As this school is expected to fill to capacity, registrants are encouraged to send in their applications early. A check, purchase order, or credit card number along with the registration form constitutes a registration. For cancellations after December 1, 2007, 50% of the total fee will be retained. No refunds will be given for cancellations after January 1, 2008. Substitutions can be made at any time and should be submitted in writing.
